I wanted to share a little win from our latest home project. If you’ve been following along, you know I’m all about creating spaces that are not only functional but also stylish at an affordable price. Recently, I tackled creating a toddler closet and just finished my organization project for my kid’s room. Walmart came through with some awesome finds that made this space look like a million bucks without breaking the bank. Let’s dive in!

The Inspiration

Kids’ closets can quickly become a chaotic mess. Between tiny shirts, jackets, and all those oddly shaped toys, it can feel impossible to keep things neat and accessible. I wanted a system that could grow with my little one, looked good, and stayed on budget.

The Breakdown: What I Used

Here’s a closer look at the pieces I picked up:

Fabric Storage Bins ($4.88 each)

These navy blue fabric bins are perfect for stashing seasonal clothes, extra socks, or even toys. They’re lightweight and fit on the top shelf for a clean, streamlined look. Plus, the reinforced handles make them super easy to pull down when needed. These storage bins help maximize space in closets, bedrooms, and playrooms.

Wooden Storage Crates ($12.38 each)

The wooden crates are one of my favorite finds. They add a touch of warmth and natural texture to the closet. I’m using them to hold small toys, socks, and other odds and ends. Bonus: They’re sturdy enough to last through the wear and tear of daily use. The inside lining pops right out when you need to clean as well.

Small Hangers ($18.00 / 100 pk)

One game-changer for organizing kids’ closets is investing in small hangers. These kid-sized hangers are designed to keep smaller clothes neatly in place without stretching them out. It also helps in saving space in the closet.

TIP: These hangers helped encourage my kid to use his “own” hangers to hang his “own” clothing. Starting the clean up and organizing lessons young!! It’s his new favorite pass time😂

A Kid-Sized Step Stool ($24.00)

A must-have addition to get your kids involved in hanging up their clothes. A sturdy, lightweight step stool allows them to reach the hanging rods or shelves with ease. Look for a step stool with non-slip feet and a durable design for safety. Access to their wardrobe can turn organizing into a fun, empowering activity while teaching responsibility in a kid-friendly space.

TIP: Some say to get the collapsible options to store away, but I’ve found they are pretty clumsy and fold too easily which scares me with little ones.

Wall-Mounted Shelves & Cubbies

Read Here on how I created these Shelves

These white shelves are sleek, easy to install, and perfect for books, toys, and decor. I love how they break up the hanging rods and add a little personality to the space. With their minimalist design, these wall-mounted shelves are ideal for maximizing vertical storage in small spaces like home offices, bedrooms, etc.

Why Walmart?

I’ve shopped around, and honestly, Walmart’s organization products offer some of the best bang for your buck. Everything feels sturdy and well-made, and the variety means you can mix and match pieces to fit your style.

For just under $50, this closet went from a chaotic catch-all to a beautifully organized and functional space. And the best part, is it’s easy to maintain because everything has a designated spot. It’s proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune to create a space that’s both practical and Pinterest-worthy. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products or have your own closet hacks to share—I’d love to hear from you!
