By using this simple homemade solution, you can keep your garden and lawn looking pristine without resorting to harsh chemicals. If you’re searching for natural weed control methods, this remedy is an affordable and efficient option to consider.

Materials:

Step 1: Gather Your Gear

Before you Start DIY-ing

Make sure you have everything ready before you start. Thankfully, I had most of it at home except for the 45% vinegar which I ordered overnight on Amazon. I heard that a few other household ingredients work too, but I can’t say I have tried any of them. Others say apple cider vinegar works in lieu of white vinegar and sea salt instead of iodized salt. But I know my method works, so I would just follow me 🙂

Step 2: Creating your Solution

Mix the Ingredients

Pour 1 gallon of vinegar directly into your pressurized sprayer. Then pour 1 cup of salt and shake or stir well until the salt is dissolved. Pour in 2-3 tablespoons or just a heavy squirt of dish soap this will help the mix stick to the weeds.

Step 3: Put the Mix to Use

Spraying the Weeds

Before spraying make sure the wand is aimed away from your face or any nearby people or pets. Keep the tip of the wand setting on low and increase as you go. Spray the mixture directly onto the weeds. I use a pressurized sprayer. This mix will kill any grass or non-hearty plant it touches, so aim carefully. Coat the weeds thoroughly, but try not to over do it. I’m sure you’ll have some left over so you can always spray more!

Step 4: Check Back

You May need to Reapply

After 24 hours or so, see how your weeds are doing. You should DEFINITELY be able to start seeing the decay. The weeds should become brownish yellow and straw like. You might need to reapply to the stubborn ones.

Just like that a simple, yet natural way to keep your garden weed-free at home!
